I run hot and cold at this time of the year (no pun intended). Sometimes, I love everyone else’s exuberance. Then again, well, then again… I’ve been to the Mall. I think it is overindulgence and maybe self indulgence. My alter ego, the Grinch is at play, but that is short lived.
Big and small towns all over are decorating for the holidays. Port Hope has a huge community of volunteers who for the most part are responsible for making holiday cheer visible in our Town. Visit the Festival of Trees at the Capitol Theatre capitoltheatre.com for a chance to win one of the 50 plus trees donated by local businesses and decorated entirely by volunteers. Shop local. Mostly though, give of your time to the Sally Anne, to the food bank or to whatever cause helps to console those who need to be remembered regardless of the season. Enjoy those around you, and Season’s Greetings. The Grinch has left the building.
